Ode to Fall Trees, picture style
the reason I can’t move from this town, unless it’s for a longer fall season,
a soothing melody of colors,
what ocean was to me for the first half of my life,
my comfortable,
goodbye for this year, it’s been a good one

Moments of Mercy (or Anteater Lips)
Today was one of those days when kind words seemed far from the mouths of my babes and wisdom just as absent from my brain. By 6:30am the storm had begun and by mid-afternoon we had all hit the shore. With determination we made it through school. And with growing hope my eldest and I re-connected through baking(cranberry pear crisp for Mr. Darcy) and preparing the kitchen for dinner(ignoring the shouts and cries from the other room). The slivery skins of ripe pear and brown sugar lifted our spirits and softened our hearts. Her willingness to happily help with the dishes and then set a beautiful table(she does love to make things beautiful) did good things for my soul. And I think it helped hers too. Later, after dinner, she sat down next to me.
M-I made your bed.
Me-You did?
M-And I made you a postcard and put it on your pillow.
Me-You did?
M-And for Daddy!
Me-Wow!
M-Do you want to go see it now?
(she’s exactly like me when it comes to surprises, I can’t stand to wait to give one)
And this is what I found.

(Note: anteater lips is a phrase that when uttered is a call for “give me kisses and hugs now!”ditto for camel(cammle) lips.)

This morning was hard but I hope you end your night in peace.

This day was hard for you and I’m sorry you have more to do. I am dissapionted but I still love you. (heart)
She’s a peacemaker with a forgiving heart and she brings joy and beauty to our home(and to her momma’s heart).
